Apple hires YSL CEO Paul Deneve to work on “special projects”

Posted on Updated on

Apple seems to be doing quite a bit of hiring today. Hot on the heels of news that Apple had hired Hulu Senior VP Pete Distad, it was revealed that the Cupertino-based tech giant has also acquired former Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) CEO Paul Deneve. According to a tweet from Bloomberg’s Adam Satariano, Deneve will serve as a Vice President under Tim Cook, and will work on “special projects.”

Deneve is a very interesting hire for Apple, especially at this time. As both a former CEO of YSL, a worldwide fashion brand, and a past Apple employee (he worked at the company before his stint as YSL CEO), it seems Deneve is the perfect man for Apple to have if it wants to make a leap into wearable technology. Further, with stories breaking that the “iWatch” trademark is being snatched up around the world, I can’t help but speculate that one of those “special projects” is the infamous Apple iWatch.

What do you guys think?
