The Nokia Lumia 625, a phone we first brought to your attention back in May, is now official and as we told you back then, it offers a 4.7 inch screen. That makes it the largest screened Windows Phone 8 model in these pre GDR 3 days. Once that update goes through, OEMs will be able to build Windows Phone flavored models carrying 5 inch (and larger screens) with 1080 x 1920 resolution, and powered by a quad-core processor. Yesterday, evleaks disseminated some shots of the phone.

The Nokia Lumia 625 will offer five different color shells that can be changed to match your mood. Nokia says that the device is headed for China, Europe, Asia Pacific, India, Middle East, Africa and Latin America in the third quarter. Pricing before taxes and any subsidies is expected at 220 EUR ($290 USD).

“With our largest smartphone screen to date, the Nokia Lumia 625 is a perfect example of how Nokia is delivering leading smartphone innovation and experiences at every price point.”-Jo Harlow, executive vice president, Nokia Smart Devices

A dual-core 1.2GHz processor drives the handset. 512MB of RAM is onboard and there is 8GB of native storage which can be expanded by as much as 64GB using the microSD slot. The rear-facing 5MP snapper can capture video in 1080p @ 30fps while there is a .3MP front-facing camera. A 2000mAh battery keeps the lights on.
