We’re used to seeing Apple hit the top spot for various consumer surveys and performance reports, whether it be consumer satisfaction or brand perception. Apple has been on top for a while. But to win three awards in one survey is still something of an achievement. Harris Interactive conducted a survey of over 38,000 American consumers asking them to rank the best brands in a variety of sectors. Cupertino won Computer Brand of the Year, Tablet Brand of the Year and Phone Brand of the year for 2013.

What I found particularly pleasing was that HTC finished second, undoubtedly due to its fantastic HTC One handset. While more people most certainly bought the Galaxy S4, the HTC One is widely regarded as being a better device and the general consumer public seems to agree.
In the mobile space, Verizon was awarded the Network Brand of the Year, with only VZW and AT&T finishing above average. Meanwhile, in the prepaid market space, Verizon and AT&T GoPhone finished first and second again, with TracFone Wireless finishing third.
One area Apple didn’t have as much success in was the online computer retailer brands awards. Newegg.com and Microsoft.com both finished above Apple’s online store.
