Some more leaked pictures of Android 4.4 (KitKat) have been discovered, and they show off some of the new features that you can look forward to. For example, the new Android build will have a transparent notification bar. A small change to the app drawer shows your apps displayed in 5 rows of 4 apps running over your wallpaper instead of a plain black surface. And Google Now can be accessed by swiping left past the left most home page. And just like on the Motorola Moto X, you can say “O.K. Google” to start a search.

The latest speculation has KitKat launching on October 15th along with the LG Nexus 5. The latter is expected to make its debut in the Google Play Store on October 31st. So on Halloween, you might find a nice treat in your candy bag besides a roll of Smarties and a Tootsie Roll Pop. Let’s hope that there will be enough units to go around on the day that the phone launches. You might recall last year when the Google Nexus 4 sold out within a half hour, a pattern that repeated a few times in the U.S. and overseas.
